Fun Fact #8

Are giant pandas really bears?

For years, scientists could not agree on what kind of animal a panda was. Some thought it was a raccoon because it has front paws and uses them to hold food. Others thought the panda was a bear because its body is shaped like a bear and it can stand on its hind legs. A few scientists even believed the panda was a type of cat. Finally today, DNA testing has confirmed that the panda is definitely a bear!
